The Warm Homes Loan Scheme
Spread the cost of a home energy upgrade.
The government supports participating lenders to offer more affordable borrowing for eligible home improvements. You borrow from a lender and repay the loan; this is separate from a government grant.
The scheme is designed for UK owner-occupiers and private landlords borrowing personally. Approval depends on the lender’s credit and affordability checks. Rates, repayment periods and product availability vary.
GEC Power can assess your home and prepare an installation quote. This enquiry form is for a conversation with our team, rather than a loan application. Finance decisions and agreements sit with the lender.
What could it cover?
Three ways to power a better home.
Eligible technologies include solar panels, battery storage and heat pumps. The chosen installation must meet scheme and lender requirements.
Solar panels
Turn suitable roof space into a source of electricity for your home.
Explore solar →02 / StoreBattery storage
Keep more of your solar generation available for when you need it.
Explore batteries →03 / HeatHeat pumps
Plan efficient heating and hot water around your property’s needs.
Explore heat pumps →for an eligible heat pump installation
Heat pump support is still available
You can still claim a BUS grant.
In England and Wales, the standard grant for an eligible air-to-water or ground source heat pump is £7,500. Until 31 March 2027, it rises to £9,000 for properties replacing oil or LPG heating that have no mains gas connection.
- ✓A grant you do not repay
- ✓Applied for by your MCS-certified installer
- ✓Subject to property and installation eligibility

Is every Warm Homes loan interest free?+
No universal interest rate is guaranteed. Check the lender’s APR, repayments, fees and total amount payable before agreeing to any product.
Is this the same as the Warm Homes Local Grant?+
No. The Local Grant offers eligible lower-income households in England home improvements through their local authority. It has separate income and property criteria and is not a repayable loan.
Can I apply for a loan through this form?+
This form sends your installation enquiry to GEC Power. We can discuss your project and prepare a quote. Applications for Warm Homes finance must follow a participating lender’s process, when its products are available.
Where should I start?+
Tell us what you would like to improve. We’ll discuss your property, explain suitable installation options and help you understand the next steps for a quote and any relevant grant checks.
